Truth is, you moronic talking heads, we're sick of arrogant government-types telling us what is best for us. And that has nothing to do with party. And you liberals who come along and ask where our voices were during the Bush administration can kiss my ass. Look at this blog and you'll see exactly where our voices were. We were screaming loud and long as the REPUBLICAN President Bush with the REPUBLICAN congress created Medicaid part D gift to the pharmaceutical industry and obligation that my children's children will pay for. We fought and clawed and argued against the expansion of government and creation of the TSA, KNOWING that making these people government workers would do absolutely nothing to improve the security of our country. Yet deficit spending continues to buy off a large number of the population.
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of AmericaDo you think the founding fathers really wanted the words "promote the general welfare" to be used to steal (yes, steal) tax dollars from the producers in this country and redistribute it to the non-producers? Make no mistake, our founding fathers believed in charity and helping their fellow man, but not to the extent of doing everything for them. The problem is that our "welfare" system has become an industry. If you actually teach a man to fish rather than give him a fish, he'll eat for a lifetime, and some social worker will be out of a job. Good GOD, we can't have that!
Our founding fathers wanted excellence. They wanted people to have the freedom to pursue their dreams and achieve their highest possible position in society. And if that person was happy with making very little money, that was fine too, as long as they were left free to do exactly that. However, if that person chose to do that, our founding fathers didn't think that it was government's job to come in and assist this person despite their choice. But apparently modern-day liberals are smarter than the men that created the document which founded the greatest country in history.
Or at least, they think they are.

Didn't the founding fathers also believe that owning slaves was a-ok? Doesn't sound to me like those guys knew much about freedom.
Not all of them believed that owning slaves was indeed ok. If you look, it was about 50-50. And for guys who didn't know much about freedom, the country they founded has freed more oppressed people over history than any other civilization.
