By the way, my response was something along the lines of "I'll take the advertisement off Craigs list when the money is in my hands, and my name & address", which of course is public knowledge. I did not provide them my cell, since I know there are some scams where they can charge to my cell #.
Should be interesting over the next couple days to see how this rolls.

I advertised a sofa for sale. Got an email last night from "Tim Nauman" aka brandonlawrance@gmail.com who forwards his mail to pmoon01@gmil.com. He took the letter "a" out of mail in the "pmoon address" so that when I responded, I got a return mail error message.
Whoever this is has nothing better to do than create fake emails and read Craigs List to suggest they want purchase things they have no intention of buying. He thinks he is really clever. Imagine the time he spends creating fake email identities. A child can do that. Will someone send him a job offer to keep him off of Craigs List?
Or, notifying Google about his antics might permanently prevent him from obtaining email accounts.
One out of every three people who show an interest in items I sell on Craigs List are kooks like this.
Whenever I get one of these, I forward the email to abuse@gmail.com with a quick copy of the mail header to prove that it came from their servers. I've yet to get a response saying "Thank you we've disabled that waste of oxygen's attempt at scamming" or something along those lines, but eh, I keep trying.
I got this within the last hour. It seemed suspicious to me so I searched Google for "Tim Nauman" hearing impaired Craigs List and here we are. I responded with Cash Only, Will Remove Post When Transaction is Completed. How incredibly sad that someone would be so small as to waste that much time playing childish games such as this.
I received a response from this guy, but he first responded from his cell phone. Mistake on his behalf?
Email shows:
Tim Nauman
Sent from my HTC smartphone on the Now Network from Sprint
from another email address of dumblickpaul40@gmail.com
The next email I received was from his pmoon01 gmail account. Is there really no way to hold this creep accountable?
pmoon01@gmail.com is still at it. just got an email from him in response to a craigslist ad i posted.
Just got an Email asking if i still had the item that was listed on Craigslist . Looks like brandonlawrance@gmail.com strikes again . It was sent from the HTC phone as well . But this time he/she has a new reply to Email addy sadllawee17@gmail.com and signed the mail with the name Sandra . So set you SPAM filters to kill with that one . Glad i look up Email addys before i reply to people , this site was a time saver .
Was just contacted by Tim Nauman today, return gmail address was pmoon01@gmail.com. What a joke, he sent the identical email template as posted in your blog....
Thanks for this post! Just got a Craigslist response which was nearly verbatim to yours..

I received the same email a last week from a woman named Jane. I had some things posted on CL. You want to get these scammers good? Do what I did.....It worked, as the local paper had an article on the investigation. This is what I did. I answered Jane back with all the info she asked for......I went online looked up the local Ploice Department, Gave her the phone number of the Investigations department, also gave her the address of the police department, The name I used was one I found of one of the Detectives. Jane obviously followed thru, and sent Detective, Police Department, a Bogus, faked, forged check. Give it a try.....They will have little choice of getting involved if they are made a part of this scam.
This same creep msg me last night to buy our piano. What a jerk! We need the money badly so we don't loose our rental and he has the gumpshoun to pull this. People like this should be punished.
