I saw the book Jarhead in the airport as I travelled to St. Louis yesterday and decided that I'd pick it up. I'd thumbed through a copy in hard-back, but just couldn't bring myself to spend $30 on a book that I pretty much knew the story of, since I LIVED it. But at $8, I figured it was a good buy.
It was amazing in its accuracy of a portrayal of the life of a grunt, a Marine, and of wartime. I'm only about a third of the way through it, and want to finish it prior to seeing the movie, but I'll post more later about my opinion of the book.
